Not a foreign tool bent to fit. Brawta does the statutory maths and fills the real TAJ paperwork — so payroll stops being a monthly headache.
PAYE (periodic or cumulative), NIS, NHT, Education Tax and HEART — calculated to the current thresholds and rates, every pay run.
S01 and S02 are filed online only — Brawta builds the upload files the portal takes — .xlsx for the S01, .txt for the S02, .xlsx for the P45 — with every figure already worked. The P45 also comes out on the real government form, because that is the copy you must hand the leaver.
Brawta writes the salary file the bank asks for — NCB ACH and NCB eLink, built field-for-field from NCB’s own File Creator workbooks, and JN LIVE Business, built to the layout in JN Bank’s published payroll guide — plus a generic ACH CSV. Either bank’s file pays staff at any Jamaican commercial bank, not only its own. Court-order deductions go in the same file, and the transfer schedule prints for your records.
Professional payslips and cash schedules — plus a Payroll Register and a balanced GL journal entry your accountant can import into QuickBooks or Sage. Bulk-import staff from Excel.
Type each person’s times for the day — in, lunch, out — or just the hours, or fill in a timesheet in Excel and bring it in. Brawta works out the overtime by your own rules: when it starts, the day your week begins, and a higher rate for Sundays and public holidays. Your staff and your managers can each follow their own.
Every payslip has a Staff link. Copy it into WhatsApp and it opens on any phone — no app, no password — showing their last three payslips (what a bank asks for), their totals for the year and what’s left on any advance. If you allow it, they can ask you for a job letter from it too. It is sealed on your computer before it leaves, so no server ever reads it, ours included. With no login, whoever has the link can open it — so send it to them alone.
Brawta checks for a new version itself and tells you when one is ready — no watching this site for a download. That's how the new official rates reach you when the thresholds change with the tax year. Nothing installs behind your back: you choose when it downloads and when it installs, and your data is never touched.
A Preparer runs the payroll and submits it. A Reviewer checks the figures and either approves them or sends them back with a reason. Approving locks the month — so nothing quietly shifts underneath a return you've already filed.
The two sit on separate computers — the office and the accountant, the clerk and the owner. The month travels between them as a sealed parcel: locked on the sending machine with a key only your team holds, so the relay that carries it can never open it. Your salaries stay unreadable to everyone but you — the same arrangement as the encrypted cloud backup.
Even the reviewer’s notes stay sealed. If they flag a specific employee, that comment is encrypted on their machine before it moves — the relay stores it without ever holding the employee’s name.
Working alone? None of this appears. Payroll runs straight through, offline, exactly as it does now — a second seat is something you switch on, not something you're put through. Inside a team, the one rule is that the same person can't both prepare and approve the same month; every submission, send-back and approval lands on the audit trail, with a name and a time against it.
Two users come with Standard — five on Pro, ten on Enterprise.
