Each company keeps its own employees, its own pay history and its own returns. Switch client from the sidebar — nothing crosses over, and no figure from one client can reach another’s payslip or S02.
Put a preparer on the three clients they actually handle and nothing else. Seats and client access are set from Team, so who can open a client’s salaries is a setting rather than a matter of trust.
A client’s payroll is locked on the sending machine with a key only your practice holds, so the relay that carries it between computers can never open it. Reviewer notes are sealed the same way — flag an employee and the relay stores the comment without ever holding the name.
Every submission, send-back and approval lands on the audit trail with a name and a time. The entries are chained, so Brawta can tell you if the record has been altered since it was written — there is a Check button that says so out loud. It rides along in your backups and merges back on restore.
Your self-employed clients’ returns come off the same book — the official S04 with Schedule 1, capital allowances and the Employment Tax Credit schedule, at a per-return rate that drops with volume. Due 15 March.

A Standard licence comes with two users. Your client holds the licence and sends you an invite from Team. You install Brawta on your own computer and enter it.
You run the payroll and submit it. Your client checks the figures, then approves the month or sends it back with a reason. Approving locks the month, and every step lands on the audit trail with a name and a time.
The month travels between your computer and theirs sealed, with a key only the two of you hold. The relay that carries it can never open it, so their salaries stay unreadable to everyone else.
The licence is your client’s. You work on it as their second user, so there is no licence for you to buy to look after their payroll.
One client per computer. A computer works under one licence at a time, and an invite from a second client moves it there. Looking after several Brawta clients? That is what Enterprise is for, with up to ten companies under your own key.
Only checking, not preparing? Your client can switch on the read-only accountant view on their own computer. You can open everything and export reports, and you can’t change a figure.
